Happy 2023 from BirdWise East Kent!

Happy New Year everyone! We hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas.

 

We have so much planned for 2023, and so we’ll dive right in!

 

Our free to enter 2023 Photography Competition is drawing ever closer, so time is ticking to enter in your favourite images.

Here is a reminder of the different categories:

Daring Dozen

Good Coastal Conduct

Coastal Wildlife 

Coastal Landscape

Human Impact on the Environment

Savvy Sea Dog

 

And Young Photographer categories:

0-11 years 

And 12-18 years.

 

You can enter up to two photographs in either the same category or one in two different categories. 

 

Closing date is Sunday 19th February 2023!

 

For some last minute tips and tricks we will be hosting two Photography Sessions with our own Photography Expert Jasmine Beveridge who completed a BA(Hons) Degree in Marine and Natural History Photography. 

There will be a talk aimed at the younger audience 0-18 years old and another aimed at 18+ 

Everyone is invited to these sessions whatever your ability. 

The 0-18 years old will be focused on Subject Matter and Beginners Skills

Whereas the 18+ will be focussed on Exposure Triangle, Rule of Thirds, Lighting, Focussing and more. 

 

Throughout the remaining winter migration period we will be hosting a #WildWeekend almost every other weekend.

Sunday 26th March – Broadstairs

During the School Easter Holidays we will be hosting an Easter Eggstravaganza

There will be plenty planned from the 3rd – 6th and the 11th – 14th April. 

Again, keep your eyes peeled on our Website and Socials for more information and event pages.  

 

We will also be hosting a Spring Migration event as a farewell to our wintering guests as they prepare to set off back to their summer homes. 

Expect lots of informative activities planned from the 29th May – 2nd June. 

 

And, last but not least we will be hosting a Photography Exhibition to showcase the winners and runners up of the 2023 Photography Competition!

There will be an Awards Ceremony on Friday 21st July at the Crab Museum, Margate where we will be announcing the winners and runners up of each Category.
